Why I am no longer a Democrat
It appears that Obama has caved in to the health insurance industry
and gave them everything that they wanted. The reform package that
will pass will include some concessions by the health insurance
industry in the form of lower prices in exchange for no real reform
and an increase in the number of people that the industry covers. I
don’t see how this reform will help the people in any way. Its clear
that this approach will leave the following unfinished:
-The insurance industry can still pick prices
-With some minor tweaks the insurance industry will still be able to
have some bureaucrat in Connecticut determine coverage and pricing.
-The insurance industry gets to maintain their own death committees
that determine who is covered.
-The insurance industry still gets to pick a competitive price and
will be able to set their own industry standards for
overhead–significantly higher than medicare, medicaid or any of the
socialist solutions.
and the big 2:
-No option for the public solution
and
-No negotiation for drugs.
So, that is clearly a cave-in.
Add that to the Democrat concession to the banking industry and you
have the need for a revolt. I am no longer a Democrat. I am
something else. We need a new, viable party. We have two parties in
America. We have a party that works for big business and a party of
crazies.
And we got what we deserved.
